Submitting Your Dissertation

This guide walks you through submitting your dissertation for a quote.

Before You Begin

Make sure your dissertation is saved as a Microsoft Word document (.docx). Other formats (PDF, LaTeX, Google Docs) are not supported for automated analysis. The maximum file size is 50 MB.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Go to the Submission Page

Navigate to the submission page at /submit on the platform. You will see a form with several sections to complete.

Step 2: Enter Your Contact Information

Fill in the following fields:

  • Full Name (required): Your first and last name.
  • Email Address (required): The email where you would like to receive your quote and project updates.
  • Phone Number (optional): A phone number where you can be reached if needed.

Step 3: Select Your Service Type

Choose the type of editing service you need:

  • Editing: Content editing, grammar, punctuation, clarity, and academic tone.
  • Formatting: Formatting your dissertation according to your university's style guide (APA, MLA, Chicago, Turabian, etc.).
  • Editing and Formatting: Both services combined.

Step 4: Upload Your Document

Click the upload area or drag and drop your .docx file. The upload begins automatically. You will see a progress indicator while the file transfers.

If the upload takes more than a few minutes, check your internet connection and try again. The upload link expires after 5 minutes, but the system generates a new one automatically if needed.

Step 5: Add Notes (Optional)

Use the notes field to share any additional information with your editor:

  • Your university's specific formatting requirements
  • Sections that need extra attention
  • Your deadline or preferred turnaround time
  • Any other special instructions

Step 6: Submit

Click the Submit button. You will be redirected to a page that shows your quote being generated. This typically takes 10-30 seconds while the system:

  1. Analyzes your document structure
  2. Counts words in different sections
  3. Identifies tables, figures, and front matter
  4. Calculates your personalized quote

Step 7: Review Your Quote

Once processing is complete, your quote appears with a full breakdown. See Understanding Your Quote for details on what each line item means.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use .docx format: The analysis engine works best with properly formatted Word documents.
  • Keep Track headings: Use Word's built-in heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.) so the analyzer can correctly identify document sections.
  • Include all sections: Upload the complete dissertation including front matter, references, and appendices for the most accurate quote.
  • Bookmark your quote page: The URL contains your submission ID and you can return to it anytime to view your quote.
